thanks for the suppport!

This is a funny little card I sent to a friend to thank her for her support!! Tee Hee Hee!!! I had seen this on a few bloggs & wanted to give it a try!! The paper is actually that velvet/suede stuff. I used my round scallop punch & folded it in half for the bra, added a few pearls & a sentiment... that is it, very quick & to the point...so to speak!!! The inside says...Thanks for your support! (of course) I realize I could have done much more & added allot of bling...but wanted to keep it simple.

New Stamps!!!

Don't you just love when you open your mail box and you have stamps in there instead of bills!!!!
Well that is what I got today!! YA HOO!! and it is even better when they come on you day off...so you can play all day :) I made these 2 cards with my new stamps from Clear Artistic stamps..the set is Hop into Spring...& these little bunnies are just too cute!

I know to most of you in the world it is still very much winter.....but it is BEAUTIFUL here today....and I have spring fever!!!
For the first card the papers are from MM & the cute bow trick I learned from my friend & SBS-8 sister marge..just making loops & holding them down with dots...cool huh?

For the second card I was reminded by another SBS-8 sister Su to use my embossing folders!! always forget about them..Thanks Su!!!
I sat the bunny in a field of flowers & added some Liquid applique to him for a little dimension! I do believe the paper for this one is from SU. I just could not resist adding a little stickles to all the flowers. Hope you all like them...they were very quick & easy!!

As always...thanks for visiting!!

Walk the dog

I realized yesterday that I have really gotten away from any kind of coloring!! I also realized...it is very soothing!! And I enjoy it!! So you will be seeing some more of that in the future :) My BBGF Marge let me borrow some of her fun girly girl stamps which I have been having sooo much fun with!!
This card is for my DD who will be 21 this weekend!! this card will be from our dogs :) If you knew her you would understand!!
She is one of the lucky ones in life as she is truly living her bliss!! She has been an animal lover all her life & is now a Surgical Vet Tech. & gets to work with animals everyday all day!! I miss her living at home...but I must say I do not miss all of the animals she has had over the years...Hamsters, rats, ferrits, birds, a chicken, fish, cats, dogs...I put my foot down about the snake!! and no we do not live on a farm...not even in the country!

Bla bla bla....anyway...I colored the image with regular colored pencils & used some of that fun flocking stuff on the dog. Used a couple of stampin up punches for the circles & the sentiment is from papertray.

Cherry Blossom's

As I was putting on some lotion this morning...I was thinking how much I loved the label on this bottle & what a cute card that may make! Sooo I thought I would give it a try...and I think it turned out pretty darn good :)
I also wanted to try something new thatI learned from Mel @http://melstampz.blogspot.com/ did you know you can purchase bunches of silk flowers & take them apart, & you have instant flowers for your cards...tons of them for cheap!!! She also shows you how to custom color them. I chose to leave mine white for this project.
I first stamped the stems with stampin' ups Embrace Life. Then added the little flowers with some liquid pearls to the center. I used a small scallop punch with Papertray's Oval borders & corners set & more liquid pearls to finish it off.
The little bunch of flowers I bought at Michaels Crafts for a buck!! & I bet I have over a hundred of the litter buggers left!!! man do I love a good deal :) Seriously tho if you have not been to mel's blogg @ http://melstampz.blogspot.com/ check it out!! she teaches you something with every post!!!

That is it for now!!
Hope you all had a great weekend!! Thanks for visiting!!

Happy Valentines Day

This card is one of those Happy accidents!! It started out being a much longer card but then when I was working on it I dropped an inked stamp on the red paper,Sooooo I just cut it off & it ended like this...I like it!!! reminds me of a tuxido. The stamp is an old time Fave from SU. Everything else is just stuff I had laying around in my crafty cave!

In case you didn't know...I even work at a dental office! This is Sat eve & still not feeling 100%..SO needless to say that is why no posts or comments all week...so sorry!! I also apologize to all who "tagged" me...Just do not have the time to get to it. I also have a pay it forward to do...will be getting to that in the next day or 2.

I love shoes!

This is a chalenge I did for http://challenge-cmutd.blogspot.com/ you have to make a card using NO MORE than 3 colors! you should give it a try! it is harder than you think.
The paper I just love...it is from our local craft store. The stamp I borrowed from my BBGF Marge & I am having so much fun with her girly stamps!

Somthing else I discovered today...acrylic blocks work GREAT as ice scrapers! It rarly ever freezes ice here in Arizona...so I do not have an ice scraper! I went out to go to work this AM & ice was covering my car! so I came inside to find something to scrape with & I saw one of my large acrylic blocks & gave it a try...Perfect! It worked like a dream!!! TEE HEE HEE!!!

Blogg candy from Han

One of my SBS8 sisters has some awesome blogg candy up for grabs...details are here on her 1/25/08 post http://hanscraftycreations.blogspot.com/

I had to make a mothers day card with matching tag.

This is what I came up with:

The beautiful DP is from MM. The pearl ribbon is from our local craft store. I punched the flowers from 2 different size punches & put pearls in the center as to match with the ribbon...the pearls are from Stampin' up' pretties kit. I used 2 different size scallop punches from Marvy.

That's it!! Now I am off to the Dentist to get a root canal :-( wish me luck!! hope you all have a better than I....as always...thanks for stopping by!

~Gwen~

P.S. if all goes well at the Dentist I will be back later today!

Favorite new glitter technique

I am so exctited that our local Michael's craft store now carries these little boxes! It looks big in the picture but the actual size is about 6 X 6 1/2 including the handle. They only come in white or box brown so I purchased a white one & painted it cream with acrylic paint as to match the paper a little better. It also has an oval window in the front which I covered with paper...I did not want the recipient to be able to see inside. The ribon does match allot better in person....again I apologize for the bad photo.
Fot the little birthday wishes tag in the front I used the 2 different sizes of the Marvy scallop punches. Sponged the edges and decorated the ovals with Papercrafts beautiful stamps. If you could see the picture better...you could see I then used my "favorite new technique" glitter over spray adhesive! If you ever try this... the results are stunning!
these are just a couple of pics of what I use & how I do it.

I use a spray adheasive...this is just the kind I like best...sometimes you have to ask where it is as some stores have it locked up so the glue sniffers can't get to it! (OH brother) You don't need much BUT the more you spray the thicker your glitter will be. I have also found that the finer the glitter the better the result! I just happened to like Martha Stewarts crystal fine glitter. It is best to do this outside...but for this time of year you can use a well ventalated area & BE SURE your work surface is covered! Once you have sparyed the adhesive on on your project....just dump on the glitter, & pore the excess back into the bottle. Then I use a piece of computer paper & lay it over my glittered project & press down or even roll over it with my brayer . Thats' it!!
I also love it to glitz up my Flowers a bit...it is not meant to change the color of your project...just to glitz it up a bit! Also if you look at my previous post you will see how beautifuly it glitzes up plain scrap paper.
If you love glitter...this is a must try for you!! Good Luck!

Thanks for looking :-)

It's a beauty!

Happy Birthday To My friend & fellow stamper Ilene!! It is always a chalange for me to make a card for a fellow stamper! I must say...I am really happy with the way this one turned out...even tho it is nothing like the one I had in my head! :-)
The beautiful paper is just some open stock 12 x 12 scrapbook paper from our local craft store. I made it extra special & glitzy by first spraying it with spray adhesive & then covering the whole thing in Martha Stewarts Crystal fine gilitter. I used the same technique for the scallop tag.
I used some pearls & a hat pin from Stamin' ups pretties kit to finish out the bow. After I used Stampin' ups ticket punch on the corners I add a little more bling with some purple crystals. Added a clear cristal heart to finish the tag. That's it...A very special birthday card!!
Had a blast today!!! had a group of very talented ladies over for make-n-takes...there were 6 of us & each one had to bring something to share and the supplies for all. It is always so fun when we do this...as you can imagine....food, friends, & crafts!!! what more could you ask for!!
So needless to say I have lots of other things to share! so see ya latter today!
