I have been trying & trying to learn this whole "shabby" thing....getting better but still not quite there :(
I made this card for my Mom's Birthday. You can't really see it the photo but this card has lots of sparkle!
The beautiful DP is DCWV. The butterflies are also cut from paper from the same stack. I made the pretty little pink velvet flower :) The gorgeous lace is from HL as well as all the pearls. The yellow ribbon is a piece from my stash. That's it!!! HEY!! by the way....does anyone have a link to a tutorial on how to make the shabby bows???? I am having such a time with that!! If ya do could you please leave me the link in the comments box PLEASE!!! I would really appreciate it!! :)

Oh my goodness, Gwen! This is so gorgeous on so many levels: that gorgeous paper, that to-die-for lace, your velvet flower, those butterflies, glitter, pearls -- WOW!!! I think perhaps you've gotten the whole "shabby thing" nailed down already!!! Now to just learn to tie those bows & you'll have total shabby perfection!!! LOVE this & so will your Mom!!!

This is gorgeous!! I think you have shabby chic down! I absolutely adore everything about this. The background paper rocks and the velvet flower and bright pop of yellow ribbon are fabulous. This is pretty, I am sure your mom would love it! I am not sure about tutorial for the seam binding bow (if this is what you were talking about), I just simple tie a bow like you would do with a ribbon, and then do another one, stack them on top of each other and stitch it together, might not be the "correct" way, but this is how I do it, hope this helps!
