My blossom won't bloom :-(

I hope most of you have seen the tutorial & beautiful creations of Pam Bassett...
well, She did a wonderful tutorial for a ribbon blossom....I gave it a try...but mine won't bloom :-( it is more like a pinwheel
sigh............. Oh well, maybe I should call it a day. The rest of the card I did using scraps of all the pink paper I have laying around.
The stamp I got at Michael's on the dollar table. All of the brads are from Michael's also. I used my new scallop punch from Stampin' up for the center.
As you can tell...I have some problems getting the paper to line up straight!..Any tips on that would be greatly appreciated!!
Thank you!....now I am depressed & need to take a break from all this :-)
See Ya soon!
Gwen

Oh, I'm sorry you're depressed! I saw that tutorial awhile back on the ribbon flower, but didn't have the nerve to try it; I'd hate to waste a lot of precious ribbon! Yours looks fine actually; maybe just not as full as Pam's blossoms, but still very pretty!
At least you tried it; that's the only way to learn -- I'll attempt it one day. Heck, I can't even come up with Valentine's cards lately for heaven's sake.

still a great effort, I think it looks great. I am not big on measuring, eyeball most of the time I lie paper down. It's handmade and needs to have it's own personality.

I think that your ribbon blossom looks really pretty! Thanks for the link, I might give that a try!
and Ive never really thought about how long it takes me to make my cards, so I timed myself last night, my latest one took me 35 minutes!I was a bit surprised, I thought it would be about 15! but I have also been known to struggle all night over a card, you know, those ones that just dont turn out as you planned!!
I'm sorry that you found my sketch hard, but your card sure did turn out pretty!- I hope you join in next time too! ( maybe it will get easier!!!)

The ribbon looks stunning. I love pink. Quick question what have you used on the corners of your matting and layering? Is is a type of corner punch?xx

I think your blossom is gorgeous, I really struggled to get mine to 'lift' but just kept tugging and twisting the ribbons :)

That is utterly gorgeous and I'm so jealous that we don't have Muichael's!!! We do have The Range tho (which has a reasonable sized craft dept) xx
